Hey! This might be more weird than interesting, but I've had numerous surgeries on my big toes! Growing up I always had ingrown toenails and they would get so bad that the only way to fix them was surgery.

ReplyDeleteFun fact about me...I do not swim in water unless it's chlorinated. This rules out oceans, lakes, ponds, etc. I don't like swimming in critter habitats.

What a great giveaway. I'm a bit surprised (and more than a bit jealous) about how many people have ridden elephants. I, sadly, have not. My interesting thing is that I just ran a 5k race (3 miles) on Saturday. :)

I hate the color yellow, yet chose butter yellow siding for my house. I'm not crazy about the color red, but a year ago I bought a torch red (kind of burgandy) Mustang that I love! Everytime I say I don't like a color, I end up choosing it for something major in my life!

ReplyDeleteMy little finger is really little -- it doesn't reach the third joint of my ring finger. Only presented a problem when I decided to play the violin years ago.
I just learned how to swim last summer. I took lessons when I was 8 and flunked. I tried again at 28 and passed!
ReplyDeleteHmm.. fun fact about me. OK, here goes - I have "monkey toes" and can pick up just about anything with my toes (and avoid bending over!). My second toes are much longer than my big toes, and I love it!

ReplyDeleteI have not ridden an elephant, but I HAVE been to 36 different countries. I have actually been to more countries than I have to states in my own! (I'm in the US)
My middle toe on both feet is bend under so that you can't see the toe nail unless you are looking at the bottom of my foot. You asked! LOL!
ReplyDeleteI don't know if it's odd but I have seen most of Canada except for the extreme east, west and north. My daughter just moved to BC and when I go visit her I can cross that off my list. I love to travel by car having someone else do the driving (I navigate) and I never, ever have an itinerary. Too restrictive.

ReplyDeleteI was always the shortest in my classes growing up...until the summer between by sophomore and junior year. I grew four inches! talk about growing pains. I ended up being the tallest girl in my class...and I love being tall!

ReplyDeleteMy great-grandfather was the bootleg king of Sedgwick County Kansas. My grandmother is the second youngest (older by a few minutes than her twin brother) of 9 children. They had 4 kids, a big gap, and then 5 more. He was in prison during the gap. :P

when I was a teenager, my family and I were driving through the mountains of virginia, returning home from a camping trip. A giant bumblebee flew into our van and then disappeared. A few minutes later I felt a buzzing at the waist of my shorts. I rolled down the top of my shorts and a bee flew out of them! I screamed like the little girl I was. But I still have never been stung by a bee.

When I was four, my mom took me to see a foot specialist because I was slightly pigeon-toed. He told me nothing was wrong with me, except that I would get more traction running so could probably run really fast.

My random fact is that I like to eat frozen peas straight from the freezer...as in still frozen...my boyfriend thinks this is disgusting, but I've been doing it my whole life (literally, my Mum and Grandma teethed me on frozen vegetables. They not realize that may have been a bit dangerous). :D
ReplyDeleteSthing unusual which makes everyone hates me - I weigh more (45 kg) while I was in university about 15 years ago. The last time I put myself on the scale at the emergency they weighed me in 42 kg. Even at my heaviest, I am so underweight to score 16 plus for the BMI.

The first time I went to a Taco Bell (at 11 for a birthday party) I loudly complained about the fact that this wasn't 'real' Mexican. The mother of the birthday girl looked at me and said "You are a strange little girl."

Unusual fact? Hmmmm. I love to walk and knit--or knit in most situations. When I'm somewhere and I don't have a project on which to work I get twitchy and need to be doing something. Good thing I also practice yoga and am working on mindfulness. *sigh* Such a work in progress!

Hi! funny fact - a year ago we adopted two dogs -- they were definately going to be outdoor dogs - somehow they have managed to slowly make their may further into the house; first the back room then the floorboard section of the house and now into the 1 carpeted room. they are certainly not allowed on the couch or bed though!

ReplyDeleteWhen I graduated high school, I made my own prom dress, with a matching purse sized to carry a plastic container so that I could steal desserts for my friends. I also made a matching backpack to carry my comfortable shoes. After the prom my friends and I went out for doughnuts and then to one friend's farm, where we taunted the goat in our fancy clothes. Best prom ever!

Interesting tidbit - I have four daughters - 15 yr. and triplets who are 12...AND both my brother and sister have identical twin daughters...AND my great grandfather had two sets of twins. We have fun reunions! My daughters and I all love to sew and the sewing machine keeps humming. Thanks for the giveaway.

ReplyDeleteHey, my name's Eleanor and my interesting fact is this: Recently I cut ~6 inches off my hair (first time doing it for myself) and my own mother didn't notice. (Well, she noticed the hair in the garbage . . .) This is because my hair used to be The Longest It's Ever Been, and it was getting to the point where if I did dishes with my hair down I'd have to be careful to keep i out of the dishwater. My Love Interest noticed though, which was quite thoughtful of him.
ReplyDeleteI don't know that I have a interesting personal fact.... but I do have an interesting kitten. He was rescued from a fire by the local fire department! Scrappy little fellow!
ReplyDeleteA fact - perhaps interesting - I get stage fright when speaking in front of a large group. Instead of that old trick of picturing audience members naked, I picture a scrap quilt with the colorful clothing of the audience making up the patches. This way I don't see individual faces but I'm looking right at the audience!

ReplyDeleteI love the taste of peanut butter on crackers melted in campbell's cream of mushroom soup. My brother dared me to eat it when I was 4 years old and I still think it's mmm,mmm,good 40 years later! By the way, that turqoise and brown fabric is mmm,mmm,beautiful...love the red too.

I am a retired grandmother who as a child rode on a buffalo and as an adult driving a car hit a buffalo in a rain storm. I survived, the buffalo and the car didn't. Great giveaway!
ReplyDeleteLast Easter I gave birth to my daughter (first and only so far) in the car... most people think that's pretty interesting! We were 2 minutes from the hospital. It was snowing. I I caught her and then my husband pulled over. And I had my seatbelt on the whole time. She was (and still is) perfect.

ReplyDeleteI am 8. I am learning how to sew. I have been doing some embroidery stitches. My 6 year old brother is learning some too. I hope to be on the machine before the end of summer. What fun facts! I too have ridden on an elephant, and been chased by a black rhino in India (luckily there was a handy tree and an extremly fearless guide who chased it away!) Thanks for the chance to win such a fab giveaway!
ReplyDeleteGreat fabric. Let's see... I lived in Mobile, AL during Hurricane Frederick. We had 7 trees on our house, one that came through the window and was lying on my brother's bed. We were huddled in the hall and the winds were making the walls shake that we were leaning against. We really thought the roof would be taken off and we would die. God is so good and protected us.

mmmm - interesting fact...we spent the first night of our honeymoon stuck on one side of a landslide and so had to sleep in the car and missed out on our fab and swanky honeymoon suite - people always get a kick out of that ...it was kinda funny I guess, but maybe not interesting....great giveaway though !!
