Baby girl items

A friend asked me to put together some girly items for her niece, and I had a lot of fun working on them. I made three burp clothes, two bibs, and diaper clutch. Thankfully, my friend liked all of them, and I hope that they are enjoyed and well-loved (i.e., used a lot!).

Baby set--Feeling Groovy

Playmat for Leslie (and baby Judah)

This playmat is similar to one I made last year for my good friend L.A. out of Wonderland fabric. Leslie contacted me about making one for her soon-to-be born little boy, and we had a lot of fun discussing color schemes and themes. As you can see, we went with lime green/aqua blue/orange/brown with boyish prints (animals/giraffes/guitars). It was a fun process to plan out, and I love the way it turned out. I had problems the first time I made this playmat, but this time I hand-tied the quilt and added a few buttons--and it turned out really cute. Enjoy!!

Adorable baby blanket

I bought this adorable flannel a couple of months ago when it was on sale at JoAnns. I didn't have anything in mind for it, but I love it! I made a cute little baby blanket that could be used for swaddling or cuddling. I haven't designated a recipient yet, so if anyone is interested in it, let me know:-)

My wonderful sister in law has ordered some quilted bibs, and so here is what I made. I love baby items!

Beautiful nursing cover for sale--only $25!

***SOLD!!***
Last week I made five nursing covers for various friends. I wanted to give one of my friends a couple of covers from which to choose, so I still have this beautiful green nursing cover available. It is a lovely shade of spring green, not too pale but not too bright. It makes me wish for March/April, daffodils, and new growth! Anyway, if you are interested, let me know:-)

Pretty in pink nursing cover

A friend ordered a nursing cover for someone who is having a little girl. I made her two covers to choose from, and she chose this pretty in pink one. My daughter liked it too, and attempted to model it:-)

A nursing cover to travel the world

A dear friend of mine is leaving this weekend to move overseas. She is 13 weeks pregnant with her third child, and a nursing cover will be helpful for her once the baby arrives. The fabric I used works for either gender:-)

Baby gifts in Mirabelle fabric

You may remember this fabric from an apron I made for my best friend earlier this year. I love this fabric, and think it turned out beautifully as a nursing cover (and just for fun, a little burp cloth). The problem with finding a wonderful fabric is that it disappears eventually! Like this Alexander Henry Mirabelle fabric I used, or Amy Butler's Lotus Lacework, or Wonderland by MoMo. Thankfully, Etsy and Ebay can keep me stocked with my favorites :-)

Reversible (SEC) jumper

I made this reversible jumper for a friend's baby shower. She is a graduate of Auburn, and her husband is a fan of UGA (smart man, go Dawgs!). I used star buttons for the jumper because my friend is using stars as a theme in the nursery. It is my first time making this jumper, and it was super easy. I look forward to making more!

How many of these can I make?

By my count, this is at least the fourth baby sling I have made with this fabric! But why complain--this is a gorgeous fabric, and I love making them.

PS. I am working on a few sewing projects, but they are gifts, so it may be a little while before they appear here:-)

Bib

A wonderful lady in my church makes bibs for almost every new baby. The bib is made of quilted fabric (super absorbent and sturdy), and is designed to fit over the shoulders to cover more area. With drooly, messy babies, the more area covered, the better! :-) This bib pictured is my attempt to make a bib like this dear lady makes. Mine is pretty plain and simple--my friend finds the most colorful, fun quilted fabric--but it works!

Wonderland by MoMo baby playmat

I love the Wonderland by MoMo line of fabric, and when I saw this tutorial, I couldn't wait to try my first 'quilt-like' project and make a baby play mat. It turned out really cute, thanks to great fabric, but I have a lot to learn about quilting (I think I needed to pin more...)! This was a gift for a dear friend, and she loved it, which is the most important thing. Sorry I don't have better pictures--maybe after the little baby girl arrives, I'll steal a cute photo of the play mat with a baby on it!
